| چکیده | ||
| This study examines Husayni literature as a dynamic cornerstone of Shii Islamic classics, centered on Imam al-Husayn and the Ashura event, tracing its evolution across historical periods, languages (Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Bengali, English), and cultural contexts, including sympathetic non-Muslim contributions. Employing a literary-historical methodology, it surveys primary sources like hadiths, ziyarat-texts, maqtal narratives, and elegiac poetry, alongside secondary encyclopedic works and post-1979 (1357 SH/1979 CE) publications, to delineate genres from pre-Islamic prophecies to transnational receptions. Key findings reveal Husayni literature's uninterrupted continuity, from divine origins (Quranic allusions, Imamic hadiths) through martyrdom accounts by Ashura survivors, to modern elegies by figures like Mir Anis and Mir Mosharraf Hossain, transcending religious boundaries via works from Hindu authors such as Premchand and Sarojini Naidu. It highlights distinctive literary artistry (rajaz poetry, marsiyas), religious depth (ziyarat exegeses), and socio-political resonance in fostering Shii identity and ethical reflection. The paper contributes by advocating Husayni literature's inclusion in global anthologies, proposing research agendas like digital archiving and comparative analyses with world martyrdom traditions, addressing its underrepresentation despite enduring cultural impact. | ||
